We designed the SafetyChew to lock in a bully stick rather than ‘grip’ the bully stick with plastic or rubber. The SafetyChew is extremely easy to use (no muscles required) and is made of the highest quality materials to withstand even the toughest chewers through many chew sessions.

All SafetyChew materials are sourced, manufactured, and assembled in the USA and 100% non-toxic!

The food-grade green ring is made of a durable polymer with an extremely high tear strength to ensure the SafetyChew can withstand many intense chewing sessions. This polymer is sourced from Pennsylvania and our manufacturer is located in Maine.

The nylon pin that locks the bully stick along with the rubber latch are both sourced from the USA and assembly occurs in Austin, Texas.

Without the use of SafetyChew, your dog is at risk of choking on or swallowing the last inches of a bully stick. The patent-pending nylon pin locks the last inch of the bully stick into the SafetyChew. In return, your dog will spend extra time (sometimes even hours) attempting to enjoy the last bit!

While your dog may enjoy chewing on the SafetyChew itself, it is NOT a toy for your dog to play with. It is a safety device to hold your dog’s chew to prevent choking/swallowing of large pieces and extend the life of the chew. We recommend that you always supervise your dog while using the SafetyChew and to remove the device once your dog has finished their treat.

YES! From Chihuahuas to Malamutes, all dog sizes can use the SafetyChew. We recommend that a dog owner always supervise their dog while they are using the SafetyChew. If your pup is an extreme chewer and usually snacks on Jumbo or Monster bully sticks, the PAWfect solution is coming! We are currently in the process of finalizing the design for the SafetyChew SuperChew. It will use our undefeated patent-pending pin-locking technology, but it will be made of a stronger material and hold larger chews!

SafetyChew All-Natural Bully Sticks come pre-drilled and are individually tested so we can guarantee a perfect fit. 

Customers can buy bully sticks or other dog chews elsewhere, but will need to drill a hole themselves in order to lock the chew in the SafetyChew. We cannot guarantee that bully sticks or dog chews from other sources will fit inside the SafetyChew.

The diameter of the center-hole of the SafetyChew is approximaely .75 inches (1.9 centimeters).

Yes! We recommend washing SafetyChew with warm water and soap.

Our All-Natural Bully Sticks come with a pre-drilled hole so the bully stick can be used with the SafetyChew right out of the package. The nylon pin of the SafetyChew goes through the hole in the bully stick to lock the bully stick in place.

Our initial prototypes were a bright kelly green as the majority were 3D printed (not injection molded like our final product). Our final production run resulted in a slightly lighter color (which we actually love!). To complete an exact color match to the 3D printed prototypes, it would have cost thousands of dollars and took additional time. We want to make SafetyChew affordable to as many dog owners as possible, so we decided against spending additional time and resources completing the color match. Besides, the final color is a beautiful green hue with a pearlescent finish.  

A bully stick is a single-ingredient dog chew that is made from lean and high-protein beef, specifically, the pizzle (or penis) of a bull. In many parts of the world, humans eat this product for the same health benefits that our dogs enjoy from bully sticks - bully sticks are low in cholesterol while high in protein, vitamins and minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Dogs of any breed, size, or age can take advantage of their many great health and dental benefits, while satisfying their natural instinct to chew.

Our all-natural bully sticks start out as a bull pizzle (beef penis). They are rinsed thoroughly and hung to drain any fluids. Once bully sticks are naturally dried they are baked at a high temperature for an extended amount of time to eliminate bacteria and reduce odor as much as possible. Our suppliers are of the highest of quality and use safe, chemical-free production processes.

When consumed properly, YES! Bully sticks are 100% digestible and provide vast number of health benefits for your pup. Unfortunately, every year, 1000s of dogs end up at the emergency vet due to a bully stick related choking incident. The last few inches of a bully stick can easily be swallowed by your dog and pose an immediate choking risk or become lodged in their system somewhere else down the track. To eliminate these risks, use the SafetyChew!

Let’s be fully transparent, there's no such thing as an all-natural odor-free bully stick. To produce 100% odor-free bully sticks, chemicals would need to be used Would you eat bleach?!

The majority of the odor in a bully stick comes from the fluids within the pizzle, which makes the drainage process critical. Many bully stick companies do not adequately drain the pizzle resulting in the disgusting smell that us humans hate.

Our sticks are drained, dried, and baked longer than normal bully sticks to reduce the odor even more than the standard process would. The meticulous draining process and extra baking time reduces moisture levels, resulting in a nearly odor-free bully stick!

No. Never. Our SafetyChew All-Natural Bully Sticks are free of growth hormones and antibiotics. Additionally, no preservatives or chemicals are used in or on our bully sticks. Additionally, our bully sticks are produced in a USDA approved facility. To reduce the odor as much as possible we use an extended baking time.

6 inch regular bully sticks. Our average bully stick weight is approximately 24 grams, which many companies consider to be thick (not regular). We are hoping to expand our product line to include additional thicknesses and lengths. Let us know if you would be interested!

Other popular treats such as rawhide, bones, nylon bones, or antlers are not digestible, may splinter, or may break dog’s teeth. Bully sticks are a 100% digestible alternative and are extremely safe when eaten with the SafetyChew. An unsecured bully stick may be a choking hazard or may cause an intestinal blockage. To eliminate these risks, use the SafetyChew!

A bully stick will last 2 years from the time it is produced, if it is stored in a cool, dry place (room temperature is fine). SafetyChew guarantees our All-Natural Bully Sticks will be fresh for a minimum of 18 months! If you store your bully sticks in a warm or damp location, we cannot guarantee how long they will last due to the uncertainty of the storing process.

We recommend you store your bully sticks in a cool, dry place. Any heat or moisture may cause bully sticks to produce a stronger odor than when you received them. Many customers actually store bully sticks in the freezer!

This is highly variable based on the size of your dog. Our bully sticks are packed with lean protein and there is approximately 75 to 95 kcal per 6 inch stick. For an exact serving recommendation we advise speaking with your vet.

For US orders, we charge a flat rate of $4. For Canadian orders, we charge a flat rate of $14. Canadian orders ship from Ontario, CA and US orders from Austin, TX.

We currently ship to the United States and Canada. Please note, Canadian orders may take an additional 7 business days for processing as our Canadian operations are still ramping up.

To reassure our customer's satisfaction and health, SafetyChew is keeping close tabs on the current Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. All orders are fulfilled from Texas and handled by the owners of SafetyChew with extra precaution. All orders being shipped to Canada will be delayed as a result of the USA-Canada border shutdown.

Your 100% satisfaction is important for us. We offer a 30-day Return & Exchange Policy:

 -  If a product gets damaged or was faulty upon a delivery - we offer a 100% refund or product replacement.

 -  Timing: we have a 30-day Return & Exchange Policy, from the day the item was received.

 -  To be eligible for a return, goods must be unopened, unused, undamaged and accompanied by proof of purchase.

 -  For returns, please email info@safetychew.com with the subject 'Returns' and include your order number, name, and the reason for the return.

 -  SafetyChew will provide the customer with instructions where to send returned goods. Customers are strongly recommended to get proof of postage when returning goods to avoid "lost package" situations.

 -  Please note that customers are responsible for shipping costs of returned items. If SafetyChew provides the customer with a prepaid return shipping label, the cost of the label will be deducted from the refunded amount.

 -  When returned item is received and inspected, customer receives a confirmation email, notifying about the status of the refund.

 -  If the refund is approved, then it will be processed and a credit will automatically be applied to customer's credit card or original payment method shortly after. Please note, the original shipping fee is not refundable - if SafetyChew provides the customer with a prepaid return shipping label, the cost of the label will be deducted from the refunded amount.

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from www.safetychew.com (the “Site”).

Personal Information We Collect

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device.
